      Agree that these different phrases can be confusing. We will:

      1. Link from the Home page section In Scope 1.4.1 to include links to the model sections that align and indicate that the items are defined on that page.
      2. add the following text to the updated SPCU (was SFCU) section of the model at model.html to clarify "Sex or Gender"
        1. The phrase “sex and gender” is used to characterize data in which the contextual meaning of the the datum is unclear, and acknowledge that human viscous is often equally unclear. This phrase is not intended to mean a unification of information that is more clearly either SPCU or gender identity.

    Description

      Sometimes the spec has "sex and gender" other times "gender identity" - when the spec references gender, should it reference gender identity instead?

      Since gender is not defined, but gender identity is, I assume that every instance of gender without identity, should be updated.

      suggest defining gender identity and SFCU up front - in the introduction -  or at least provide a link to the definitions in 3.2 Model Overview
