      Agree that GHP is general guidance applied across many contexts and no profiles are currently proposed, BUT abstract profiles may be useful in the future if profiles are deemed of value.

    Description

      FHIR Profiles are typically use-case specific, and the Gender Harmony guide isn't targeting any specific use case.  Rather, the Gender Harmony IG is providing guidance on how to exchange sex/gender information cross a very wide range of use cases.

       

      It is appropriate for the Gender Harmony IG to define structural guidance on how to exchange data, but developing specific profiles should be deferred to the use-case specific IGs.  I.e., I recommend that Gender Harmony not create profiles.  But instead provide the building blocks (e.g., extensions for FHIR) for profile authors to use to create their own profiles.
