There are several specifications that have implemented similar profiles of the Patient Resource

• HL7 IPA, which apparently is intended only for patient facing use cases and is exclusive of B2B use cases.
• US Core, which is limited in scope to US use cases
• IHE PDQm

Given the criticality of consensus around the use of Patient to support interoperability, it would be helpful if HL7 published a profile of the Patient Resource that captures the common themes around existing profiles of Patient, so that other IGs profiling Patient can be based on a common Profile rather than the resource from FHIR Core.
