n US Core we have provided guidance on SNOMED CT United States Edition, and suggest using the system plus the unspecified version US Edition URI http://snomed.info/sct/731000124108.

      Regarding

Is the expectation that the accompanying system URI is provided in the query response or will it be in the query when the request is made?

There is no support for the version such as the US Edition URI in the FHIR search documentation. Therefore, even if a US edition code is supported and expected in the response, the query would be the same as any other query for a code.

As stated above, we recommend that the responding system may provide the US Edition URI as a best practice, but they can omit it.

    Description

However, for terminology servers to be able to validate US Edition-only codes, implementers SHOULD provide the accompanying system URI to describe the edition as shown in option two.

Is the expectation that the accompanying system URI is provided in the query response or will it be in the query when the request is made?
