Description
There is a note that says: We expect this value set’s “end of life” name and text scope to be removed in an upcoming Value Set Authority Center (VSAC) update before the publication of this version of US Core.
I had previously explained that the End-of-Life use case needs to retain its own "more specific" value set which is a sub-set of the larger Treatment Intervention Preferences value set. The existing end-of-life treatment preferences needs to exist as is, and a new broader value set needs to get created with starts with the concepts in the end-of-life value set.
The note makes it sound like the more specific value set is going to go away, but it needs to continue to exist. The new one that's needed comes in "over" the longstanding one which first demonstrated the idea. The new OID/new VS needs to come in defined to be the set of ALL potential Treatment Intervention preferences. We would never want the existing value set to become broader because that would wreck our validation. We need the existing EOL one to remain focused only on the interventions that make sense to be included in an Advance Directive document.
