      (1)

Specialty is the clinical domain of the laboratory performing the observation (e.g. microbiology, toxicology, chemistry)

Study type is the way of grouping of the test results into clinically meaningful groups (e.g. liver test; minerals; glucose profiles)

Add these explanations in the slice descriptions.

      (2) The value set is a result of the semantic WG it identifies a common set that all the member states agreed on.

    Description

      Within

the following slices for category have been included:

However, the difference between studyType and specialty is not clear and requires clarification within the IG. Furthermore, as some of the codes seem to be matching each other (e.g. 18717-9 and 421661004).

In XD-Lab the following specialties are known, some of which are represented in http://hl7.eu/fhir/laboratory/ValueSet/lab-studyType-eu-lab:

      LOINC Name represented in lab-studyType-eu-lab

Why have not all specialties been represented in lab-studyType-eu-lab?
