The question came up in Zulip of how to indicate a clinician's preferred name in one role vs another.

Currently Practitioner (and Patient) support "usual" name, but don't have the ability to indicate "usual" for some context.

An extension on PractitionerRole to indicate a preferred name for that role was suggested. That seems like a reasonable approach for that narrow use case; however, I wonder if a more universal approach is possible for both Patients and Practitioners (and possibly RelatedPersons). The Gender Harmony project may have considered these issues (although not necessarily in this context) and may have some insight.
