Description
We have noticed a discrepancy between the US Core Search Parameters and Operations page and the US Core Capability Statements related to search parameters for the US Core Patient profile. We are asking that the gender-identity parameter listed in the US Core Search Parameters and Operations page be aligned with the US Core Capability Statement.
The US Core Search Parameters and Operations page lists gender-identity as a search parameter for the US Core Patient profile.
Patient
However, gender-identity is not referenced in either the US Core Capability Statement or in the US Core Patient profile.
The US Core Capability Statement for patient lists the following search parameters:
Search Parameter Summary:
Conformance | Parameter | Type |
SHALL | _id | token |
SHALL | identifier | token |
SHALL | name | string |
Search Parameter Combination Summary:
Conformance | Parameter Combination | Types |
SHOULD | birthdate+ family | date+string |
SHOULD | family+ gender | string+token |
SHALL | birthdate+ name | date+string |
SHALL | gender+ name | token+string |
SHOULD | death-date+ family | date+string |
This aligns with the US Core Patient Profile, which references gender as a mandatory search parameter.
