The search parameter interface described http://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/fhir-mdi-ig/best_practices.html#api-specifications--search-operations should be included in the Capability Statement(s), along with the operation(s). This can be done in addition to narrative description, but IMO narrative alone isn't a good solution.
