US Core Coverage Profile

Description
The following Specialty Medication Enrollment Coverage profile is not based on the US Core profile introduced in version 6.0.0.
Specialty Rx Coverage -https://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/fhir-specialty-rx/StructureDefinition-specialty-rx-coverage.html
Below are the key differences between the Specialty Rx Coverage profile and US Core Coverage profile in 6.0.0, The differences reflect that the Specialty Medication Enrollment IG is medication-focused and its Coverage profile focuses on elements needed to communicate pharmacy benefit coverage; it is more lenient with respect to elements that are specific to medical coverage.
- .relationship is mandatory in the US Core profile, which often wouldn’t be specified in a pharmacy benefit
- The Specialty IG enables a pharmacy benefit to be sent alone… without requiring the health plan member ID or subscriber ID
- The Specialty IG defines Coverage.class types that are specific to pharmacy benefits, while US Core defines medical benefit-related ones. Both guides, though, use the same value set for those and basically highlight standard use of the codes
