Description
1. Please fix typos
Caregivers are not considered practitioners by FHIR as they may not have formal roles in the care of patient. However, thier their participation as the caregiver is a criticial function/context to observations about their ability to deliver care to the patinet patient.
2. Please correct context of sentence reference of FHIR
Caregivers are not considered practitioners by FHIR as they may not have formal roles in the care of patient.
Rationale:
- FHIR does not contain a "caregiver resource" that states this as fact. The RelatedPerson Resource stipulates "RelatedPersons typically have a personal or non-healthcare-specific professional relationship to the patient."
- Caregivers (assuming the context is RelatedPerson) does have "formal roles in the care of a patient" - e.g. a daughter can provide home health care for her mother (the patient) and perform activities of medication management. In some situations, the same daughter could be a paid caregiver.
Suggest either removing the sentence or re-wording sentence as such:
Caregivers are not typically considered practitioners with formal professional roles in the care of the patient.
