    Description

US Core does not currently have an observation that is either generic enough or specific enough to represent a "Symptom".  It is very important to stakeholder of this NIH Care Plan project to clearly identify that an observation is a symptom. So Observation.category is bound to LOINC 75325-1 "Symptom", as no suitable code is available in the [Observation Category Value set |http://hl7.org/fhir/R4/valueset-observation-category.html . Not that "exam"  is not suitable as it states "Objective direct observations by a clinician". Symptoms may only be perceived by the patient, for example "headache", any kind of pain, etc. etc

Depending on the outcome of the US Core January ballot reconciliation with respect to the “lumping” of the various observation profiles, the MCC IG will determine which of the US Core 6.0.0 profiles that the MCC IG will “lump” its profiles to for its STU ballot in September, while keeping its current design for this January "Comment Only" ballot given that the MCC dependency is on US Core5.0.1 and knowing the US Core design may flux during ballot. MCC will respond accordingly
