      Two parts to this issue.

      1) Agree that using comparisonGroup in ResearchStudy and assignedArm or actualArm in ResearchSubject is confusing.  This should have been resolved.  To better allow the linkage we will rename ResearchSubject.assignedArm to ResearchSubject.assignedComparisonGroup and ResearchSubject.actualArm to ResearchSubject.actualComparisonGroup.

We will also change the data type to id  and ResearchStudy.comparisonGroup replace identifier[x] with  attribute id and data type id.  This will allow direct linkage from ResearchSubject.

      2) Agree that usage could be better explained - we will create examples to illustrate.  https://jira.hl7.org/browse/FHIR-39370 defines task

It seems that the ResearchStudy.comparisonGroup.observedGroup element may duplicate the ResearchSubject.assignedArm element.

If not (for example, because the referenced Group resource should only contain characteristics and never distinct subjects), please explain that.

It's difficult to understand the relationship between arm and comparison group. Why does a subject have an arm, but a study does not? why does a study have a comparisonGroup but a subject does not?
