      The requirement for signatures does not come from CDex, it comes from payers. CDex defines how the technical requirements are met.  The issues surrounding whether signatures are necessary/appropriate/useful are out of scope.

      However, we will clarify that the inclusion of signature specification does not advocate for their use: 

      "The IG specification supports the transmission of signatures if business agreement requires them but does not require them."

    Description

      It's unclear in the CDex spec if both claim submission and prior auth submission requires a digital signature. Please update the specification to clarify that prior auth submission do not require a signature from the provider. Further, given the technical complexity and burden in the liklihood that individual provider may need to sign a claim submission, the spec should state that signatures should not be required when possible
