The US Core MedicationRequest profile actually says "meets the U.S. Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) v2 ‘Medications’ requirements" (i.e. V2 not "Level 2") (this simply contains a "Medication" data element).

Will update the US PH MedicationAdministration profile to state:

      • it is intended to describe the event of a patient consuming or otherwise being administered a medication, as opposed to the US Core MedicationRequest which is intended to be used to record a patient’s medication prescription or order.
      • it is based on the following Medication data elements in USCDI Level 2:
      • Date Medication Administered
      • Medication Administration Dose
      • Therapeutic Medication Response
      • Medication Administered Status

    Description

Both the USPHPL MedicationAdministration profile and the US Core MedicationRequest profile seem to claim a basis in USCDI Level 2 Medication. But they are profiling different resources. It would be helpful for implementers if you could clarify the usage of the MedicationAdministration profile relative to the US Core profile
