The CodeX Radiation Therapy Terminology team raised interest in communicating the patient's disease status as the patient undergoes RT. Current mCODE specs include a Disease Status profile, but the associated Disease Status Trend Value Set does not provide enough information if the patient's condition (or their tumor) has worsened. The suggestion is to add a new data element that describes how the condition worsened (if that is the case). For example, local recurrence, nodal recurrence, distant recurrence, etc.
