We will define a standard extension called 'releaseDate' with a definition

Definition: "Indicates the date on which request or event resource that has a status of 'on-hold' or 'suspended' should be moved back to an active state"

Comment: "The transition may not occur on the specified date.  It might happen sooner, or some other transition might happen.  Whether the date behaves as 'guidance' or as an automated transition on the specified date is system dependent.  Implementation guides might provide more guidance about the use of this extension.

This element should be cleared when the status returns to active"

    Description

In my use of the Task resource, we have a use case where the status will be on-hold for a specific period of time, after which it will be able to be in-progress again. I propose that any resource that has a status with an option for on-hold should include some other optional property (possibly as an extension) with a period for the duration of the hold, allowing the user to specify an end date to when the hold will expire.
