      Make the following changes to add Point of Origin and Admission Type to the instatitional GFE profile (aligned with CARIN BB)

      • To the pct-gfe-Institutional ExplanationOfBenefit profile, make the following changes:
        • Add a slice to SupportingInfo named pointoforigin 0..1 with:
          • category = PCTSupportingInfoType|pointoforigin
          • code from AHANUBCPointOfOrigin (required)
        • Add a slice to SupportingInfo named admtype 0..1 with:
          • category = PCTSupportingInfoType|admtype
          • code from AHANUBCPriorityTypeOfAdmissionOrVisit (required)

       

       

      • Add the following codes to the CodeSystem PCTSupportingInfoType:
      Code Display Definition
      pointoforigin Point Of Origin UB-04 Source of Admission (FL-15) identifies the place where the patient is identified as needing admission to a facility.
      admtype Admission Type UB-04 Priority of the admission (FL-14) indicates, for example, an admission type of elective indicates that the patient's condition permitted time for medical services to be scheduled.

    Description

      On the Institutional Profile - define Point of Origin, Admission Type and Discharge Status.  

      Admission Type is required on all institutional claims

      Point of Origin is required on all IP and OP claims except for TOB 014x

      Discharge Status is required on all institutional claims. There is a code to indicate “Still Patient” when the patient is not being discharged to another facility or home.
