      See the balloter's description and review the Care Team Member Function ValueSet: https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/valueset/2.16.840.1.113762.1.4.1099.30/expansion

      used by US Core and hosted by VSAC.

      Reasoning:

      We agree with the commenter that the CareTeam.participant.role value should come from the Care Team Member Function ValueSet.

    Description

      CareTeam example has a misleading CareTeam.participant.role value of "niece".  Niece is a relationship that should be conveyed via RelatedPerson.relationship - not CareTeam.participant.role

      Note:  Patient Care had similar feedback on the base R4 value set incorrectly containing relationship (not role) codes, so Patient Care resolved to remove those relationship codes from the value set in R5 per FHIR-20566.
