Description
Suggest not including anything in this definition about negotiations as there are too many assumptions built into that. Would omit "central mechanism of the hospital revenue cycle" as that does not really give the reader much information.
I don't have a comprehensive definition, but something along the line of: A "chargemaster" is a list of each billable item and procedure offered by a particular hospital. Typically, each item and procedure is assigned a code and corresponds to a description and dollar amount.
