Some PII contained in the Patient resource is unlikely to appear in a research context, such as the patient's name. While the US Core profiles require that some of these attributes are present, suggest using data absent reason set to masked to remove this type of information from the example.

I realize that the CDMH IG does this in their example too.

The approach used in the Central Cancer Registry Reporting Content IG of using the US Public Health Patient profile would essentially address this.
