Keep the narrative content related to COVID. Add a sentence or two to provide context that this IG was developed during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was before vaccines were available, and many patients were put on ventilators at hospitals. This is a prime example of a situation where a patient would want their advance directive in place.

For the narrative content about those who received care at the beginning of the pandemic, change the sentences to past tense.

    Description

The justification scenario is deeply problematic.

The scenario described in first paragraph does not provide a convincing reason for this implementation guide and is deeply problematic. We let these poor souls suffer and die alone because of misguided Covid policy decisions. To imply that, had this guide been implemented, their sad situation would somehow been improved is dubious at best.

I suggest remove this scenario and keep only the last two sentences.
