This Implementation Guide creates 3 FHIR profiles to enable the standardized exchange of this information. The purpose of each profile is as follows: --C4DIC Coverage: The CARIN for Digital Insurance Card profile for the Coverage resource communicates the insurance plan information --C4DIC Organization: The CARIN for Digital Insurance Card profile for the Organization resource communicates the contact information for the plan (often found on the back of the physical insurance card) --C4DIC Patient: The CARIN for Digital Insurance Card profile for the Patient resource communicates additional demographic information such as date of birth for the member whose data is being retrieved The below diagram outlines how these profiles relate.
