Will update sending and receiving systems' definitions to clarify.

Sending systems are defined as systems that generate and push data within a pathology lab workflow. These systems may be used by clinicians (ie Oncologists) when ordering the pathological analysis for a patient, which will necessarily entail the collection (procedure) of said specimen, and sending of this specimen to a lab. These systems may also be use by Pathologists in cases of completed analysis and reports that need to be sent back to an clinician and/or to a cancer registry.

Receiving systems are defined as systems that receive and are expected to process data within a pathology lab workflow. These systems may be used by Pathologists (ie LIS, associated interface engines) when receiving a specimen and a request for analysis. These systems may also be used by Clinicians who ordered the lab analysis/report. Also, these systems may represent central registries who aggregate and analyze pathology lab information.

    Description

Sending Systems are defined as Provider Systems and applications.

Receiving Systems are defined as Provider Systems and applications receiving transactions from the Sending System.

Are these terms related to the Actors defined above (“Message Sender” and “Message Destination”)? If so, this should be explicit (e.g. by re-using actor names). If not, the actor list should be expanded to include these additional roles.
