FHIR-32060 Revamp MedicationUsage.status a bit
Description
In R5, the MedicationUsage.status field documents the status of the documentation of this intake, whereas in R4 it was about the medication intake itself. However, the description of the associated codes are not quite clear.
- The code "completed" still appears but has a completely different meaning (documentation status vs. intake status_
- The code "unknown" in R5 still refers to the status of the usage itself (def: "The state of the medication usage is not currently known.")
This leads to the following change request:
- Align the descriptions of the R5 status code so it is clear they refer to the documentation status
- Consider not using the code "completed" as it had a very different meaning in R4
In addition, it seems to me that it would be quite helpful if some guidance is provided on how to represent data for which one would, in R4, would have used the codes that are now missing (e.g "intended" or "stopped").
