    Description

The NCIm - NCI Metathesaurus (https://ncimeta.nci.nih.gov/ncimbrowser/) exists to link various concept sources based on meaning similarity. It also provides detailed information drawn from each source. NCIm does not identify any concepts itself and the NCIm identifiers identify the set of linkages for a meaning, not a concept. The aligned concept will be represented when needed, as an NCI Thesaurus (NCIt) concept and the identifier for that concept is different - it is the NCIt concept id. NCIt is a code system and is the NCI code system available for use.

The page Using the NCI Metathesaurus with FHIR, while perhaps providing some interesting information, should be removed from FHIR because it is not a code system and we do not have a place for "using with FHIR" pages that are not actual concepts to be used in codings.

On the other hand, it would be useful to create a page "Using NCI Thesaurus in FHIR."
