      It is not the same as used in US Core Patient, no. These value sets are only used in the data flow from NCHS to the Vital Records Office. EHR implementers will not be affected or burdened by this difference to US Core Patient. The data is used by NHCS to permit estimation and comparison of race-specific statistics at a point in time or over time for use in calculating vital rates.
