      3 requirements:

      • what mappings should be displayed
      • what mapping targets should exist at all (even if not displayed)
      • what specific mappings should be removed (because not correct based on constraints)

These issues aren't only true for mappings.  Also relevant for: ElementDefinition.code?, comment, requirements, alias, example

      We will:

Update http://build.fhir.org/profiling.html#using to make clear that profiles can remove code, comment, requirements, alias, example and mapping elements that are invalidated or made irrelevant by constraints introduced in the specification

Tooling changes to actually define how this should happen covered by FHIR-40543

    Description

We are creating an IG that is dependent on US Core. On the mappings tab for each of our profiles is the complete set of the US Core mappings. That seems excessive and would be confusing for those who would be reading our IG which has little to do with the mappings for US Core.

It would be good if we could suppress the display of the mappings that are carried through from the parent profiles.
