Since this is the introduction and likely the first page developers read about the spec, we should be more explicit about this here:

      • In section 2.3.1, make clear that we are talking about resource "instances" and resource "types", e.g. by adding the sentence: "resources are an instance-level representation of some kind of healthcare entity"
      • Mention that in the spec, the notion of a resource instance and type will often be used without clarification, though the context should make the intent clear.
      • Rename 2.3.2 to "Example resource instance". Use the word instance on 2.3.5 as well.
      • Section 2.3.13 is about the base resource TYPE, which means all INSTANCES have those elements.

    Description

      Comment:

The noun "resource" continues to be used to refer to both resource definitions and resource instances. The meaning is usually apparent from context, but in certain places, specificity would be helpful. At 2.3.2 (http://www.hl7.org/FHIR/2016Sep/overview-dev.html), for instance, it's unclear whether the metadata describes the definition or the instance.
