    Description

      Specification - Extended

HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Public Health Case Report, Release 2: the Electronic Initial Case Report (eICR), Release 1, STU Release 1.1 - US Realm

      Document Description

extended per TSC Tracker 12574, extension TSC GF 15952, JIRA TSC-29, TSC-123

      Existing Wording

The current 1.1 eICR IG does not include the clinicalDocument.relatedDocument or clinicalDocument.parentDocument which are needed to accommodate a versioning scheme for a set of eICR documents. Without it there will not be any indication of the relationship between the parent and replacement eICR documents within the replacement document.

      Proposed Wording

To accommodate versioning and distinguish the parent eICR document from its replacement eICR document (child), the eICR IG must also include clinicalDocument.relatedDocument, parentDocument.Id, parentDocument.setId, and parentDocument.versionNumber in all replacement eICR documents. The values for parentDocument.Id, parentDocument.setId, and parentDocument.versionNumber in the replacement eICR document must be the same as its parent eICR document as these data elements are pulled directly from its parent eICR document.
