    Description

Goal of the project is provide guidance in handling data relevant to the fetus in order to facilitate making those data available at the time of birth. Ultrasonographic and other imaging findings, pertinent genetic and labor. In our discussion in the CHOICE group ( Child Health & Obstetrics International Collaboration , Exploration) it became apparent that data concerning a fetus was dealt differently in the various environments. Usually it starts with data related to the mother. At a certain stage it is related to a body tissue, but some systems make it possible to consider the fetus as a simplified patient record related to the mother. The necessity is more apparent in the case of multiple fetusses (twins) where you need to be able to identify the fetus. i.e. which femur length belongs to with fetus. The purpose of this project is to review these use cases, weigh the pro's and con's of body tissue versus fetus model and possibly consider the modelling of a specific FHIR resource for a fetus. This fetus resource might resemble a simplified patient resource, but that has to be analysed still.
