The reference to subject is now on DeviceAssociation rather than Device. We agree that the 'patient' search parameter on DeviceAssociation.subject should be the common clinical-patient search parameter and will update the search parameter to include the DeviceAssociation resource and the FHIRPath expression:

DeviceAssociation.subject.where(resolve() is Patient)

Once that update has been made to clinical-patient, will remove the now unused DeviceAssociation-patient search parameter.

A number of different resource types all share the same search parameter definition for "patient". That SearchParameter has url http://hl7.org/fhir/SearchParameter/clinical-patient

One exception to this pattern is the Device resource which has its own SearchParamter for patient: http://hl7.org/fhir/SearchParameter/Device-patient

I'm wondering if there is some reason for that.
If its accidental, should it be merged with http://hl7.org/fhir/SearchParameter/clinical-patient ?
