    Description

The following elements of QICoreSpecimen are Must Support but have example bindings. Update these items to Preferred bindings:

      • QICoreSpecimen
        • Specimen.collection.bodySite uses http://hl7.org/fhir/R4/valueset-body-site.html Change to "Preferred" Consider note to OO to consider update to more recent version of SNOMED
        • Specimen.type uses http://terminology.hl7.org/ValueSet/v2-0487 This value set is referenced as an example value set only in the QI-Core profile QICoreSpecimen which references Codeable Concept and references a "for example" to this value set. It derives directly from FHIR Specimen that references this value set. The LabObservation comes from US Core and does not include specimen.type as a Must Support. Perhaps Specimen.collection.bodySites should remain Must Support and Specimen.type relax the Must Support (FHIR has Specimen.type as example as well).
        • Specimen.processing.procedure uses http://hl7.org/fhir/ValueSet/specimen-processing-procedure – These are SNOMED procedures - Change to "Preferred" Note that the LOINC term for observables may include the method as part of the concept.
