Description
After analysis of the existing VS, CDC state cancer reporting stakeholders noted a few gaps in the existing mCODE VS that they request be reviewed and mitigated so the VS (and profile) can be used to facilitate cancer registry reporting.
In particular, electronic case reporting (eCR) has 6 extra codes, plus all the in situ codes, and the benign brain codes that they would like to see included in the mCODE VSs.
mCODE has 3 extra codes, all of which are not reportable to registries, all of the basal/squamous/other skin cancers which are on eCR’s expanded list; and all the uncertain behavior neoplasms that are nonCNS.
I have attached a spreadsheet that includes the analysis completed by state cancer reporting stakeholders.
The spreadsheet includes four tabs:
1. The summary of the Analysis
2. The detailed analysis which identifies each ICD-10-CM code that is unique in each Value Set
3. The mCODE primary/uncertain behavior disorder Value Set
4. The eCR reportable Diagnosis Value Set
