Description
stopped and completed require a knowledge of whether the medication ended 'naturally' - i.e. based on intended therapy duration or patient got better or was terminated 'prematurely' (due to ineffectiveness, adverse effect, conflict, etc.) While this might typically be known for orders that are being directly managed, it won't necessarily be known when you're extracting historical records or dealing with medication 'plans'. In those cases you might know that the therapy is now 'ended', but you won't necessarily know why.
Recommend adding an 'ended' status to indicate. "The request is no longer active and the subject should no longer be taking the medication" and make it an ancestor of 'completed' and 'stopped'.
