      While we agree with your assertion in general, the name of this LOINC survey was set by the owners (Children's Healthwatch).  We do not control their naming of the surveys they use.

      We will investigate any trademark or copyright associated with referenced examples and appropriately give credit in the IG.

    Description

      This is a misuse of the term “vital sign.” There is a clear and well understood clinical meaning of the term, and misusing it in this manner muddies that clarity. If this use is permitted here, there is nothing to stop any other attempts to call any clinical observation a “vital sign.”

      Also, it appears that this term has been chosen to reflect use of a trademarked survey instrument, but there is no indication of that fact or attribution of the source. HL7 probably has concerns at the governance level regarding incorporation of trademarked materials and titles within its standards.
