    Description

Agreement on “There can be no stigma associated with the use of extensions by any application, project, or standard - regardless of the institution or jurisdiction that uses or defines the extensions. The use of extensions is what allows the FHIR specification to retain a core level of simplicity for everyone.” There needs to be a process in place to review extensions nationally on a regular schedule and incorporate as many values as possible. Then communicate the updates

Binding is from base FHIR and US Core Vital Signs. The incorporation of the extensions into the standard needs to be a standing process to support usability in data exchange. There will be instances where the extension was created due to a mis-interpretation which provides the opportunity for re-education and re-mapping.
