The elements Study id, site id and subject id will always come from the same resource and the same element. However, the path to get to that resource will vary depending on where you're starting from. With demographics, you're already starting from Patient. With most other resources, you first need to navigate to patient. In all cases you need to navigate from there to the relevant research subject or research study instance.
