Introduce a new standard extension to capture the numeric value (integer) which records the total number of births in a single pregnancy as described.

Just as the Patient birthInteger does not specify if the value includes stillborn children, this extension doesn't define it. This ensures that the 2 values have the same context/meaning

      e.g. 4 of 3 doesn't make sense

    Description

The Patient resource has an element for multipleBirth - as a choice of

      • multipleBirthBoolean (yes/no)
      • multipleBirthInteger (eg '2' to indicate 2nd born)

However, there is no means to record the total number of births from one pregnancy - eg 2nd of *4*

Clinical and jurisdiction feedback indicate that this is a useful data point to collect, to facilitate identification.

This has been raised / discussed at the HL7 Australia Patient Admin WG (see Github ticket #417), and subsequently HL7 International PA, with the request that this tracker be created.

The request is that the extension value be in the form of an integer.
