Description
Final US regulation no longer requires that only 8 SNOMED codes be used for smoking status. While the binding of the ValueSet is extensible, extensible does not give the flexibility to use code that are more appropriate for a particular smoking status because a mapping may be possible.
I think it would make the most sense to update the ValueSet to allow for other SNOMED codes to be used that is most appropriate for the smoking status being documented.
