Description
Personal healthcare device data is, generally speaking, going to need to integrate with other data that is part of the patient's health record. This will include manual measurements, information from hospital, lab and clinician office systems. The typical way most observation data is captured - particularly in the U.S., but commonly throughout the world is LOINC or, in a few countries, SNOMED. It would be useful if devices were encouraged to send these more commonly used codes in addition to the IEEE codes for more than just the vital signs where they're mandated to do so. This would significantly increase the utility of the information and improve comparibility with data coming from other sources.
