    Description

      Comment:

Recommend adding support, when available in the EHR, on information on years since quit smoking (if quit) and information needed to determine pack-year history. This information is needed to determine if a patient is a candidate for lung cancer screening; lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths, and more appropriate lung cancer screening is projected to save more lives than breast cancer screening, but current screening rates in the U.S. is < 5%. We have implemented support for this at our Epic EHR implementation and can share the specification for this purpose.
