If there are specific epidemiology criteria that apply across reportable conditions, CSTE should identify and request inclusion in the eICR (like the was done for the original element recommendations). Discussions should also occur with vendor and healthcare to determine the likelihood of inclusion and completion in the EHR. Description

      Specification - Extended

HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Public Health Case Report, Release 2: the Electronic Initial Case Report (eICR), Release 1, STU Release 1.1 - US Realm

      Document Description

extended per TSC Tracker 12574, extension TSC GF 15952, JIRA TSC-29, TSC-123

      Existing Wording

eICR 1.0 comment 1262 brought forward for eICR 1.1 (original commenter Catherine Staes)

      Proposed Wording

Previously included in STU 1.0 comment 1094. Epidemiological risk factors are identified in the CSTE position statements as content to be included in a case report but are missing from the eICR. The specific data elements need to be determined, modeled for appropriate inclusion in the eICR document structured data body and template(s) written for inclusion in the eICR. Preliminary analysis is available here: This request is based on the analysis of section VI-C in the CSTE position statements. see: https://cste.confex.com/cste/2016/webprogram/Paper7005.html
