11/16/2017 Sarah can see what the problem is here. This is likely an issue with the tooling but she's not 100% sure. Will have to do more research. It does need to be fixed, however, this is an issue with the Schematron for the C-CDA template. A comment will be made on the C-CDA R2.1 STU comment site (Sarah to make comment).

    Description

      Specification - Extended

HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Public Health Case Report, Release 2: the Electronic Initial Case Report (eICR), Release 1, STU Release 1.1 - US Realm

      Document Description

extended per TSC Tracker 12574, extension TSC GF 15952, JIRA TSC-29, TSC-123

      Existing Wording

The schematron (testing on the schematron from 8-1-17, but it appears to be an issue more recently than that) appears to have difficulties interpreting the effectiveTime conformance statements in the administered medications section. Example XML in the administered medications section/entry/substanceAdministration: Note that the first effectiveTime appears to be valid according to conformance 1098-7508 (and underlying conformance 1098-32890). The second appears to be conformant according to 1098-7513. Yet, the second gives this error: System ID: \\epic-nfs\nfs_ask\ICR\ide-cur.8428190.27863392.CUR1PRI.xml Main validation file: \\epic-nfs\nfs_ask\ICR\ide-cur.8428190.27863392.CUR1PRI.xml Engine name: ISO Schematron Severity: error Description: This effectiveTime *SHALL* contain either a low or a @value but not both (CONF:1098-32890). (( cda:low or @value) and not( cda:low and @value)) [assert] Start location: 433:0

      Proposed Wording

Refine the schematron to be able to parse multiple effectiveTimes within the administered medications section, or update the conformance statements to be clear regarding the ability to include both a duration (low/high) and a doses effectiveTime.
