Existing WordingConformance statements: 3284-270 - The templateId is an observation-level template. 3284-305 - the entry/organizer/component/observation/code SHALL have an @code The conjunction of these two statements appears to significantly reduce what can be flagged as reportable in an eICR. For example, a narrative, note or non-discrete result cannot be flagged because 3284-305 cannot be met with a standard code system and a nullFlavor is not allowed. Clustered organism results appear to also be unable to be flagged. They are often included at the entry/organizer/component/organizer level, with antibiotic susceptabilities included as additional components under that. Since the organizer level is where the organism code is likely to be included, it would seem to make sense to flag that level as being the reportable piece. This cannot be met because of conformance 3284-270 being an observation-level template.
Proposed WordingRemove conformance statement 3284-305. Consider an addition of a new template or modification of the existing template defined by conformance 3284-270 to allow flagging organizers as well for the case of cluster/organism results.
